Dr. Tom Rodgers, Professor of History at the University of Southern Indiana, will discuss some of the Hoosier authors who made Indiana second only to New York City in the amount of best-selling books that were published between c. 1870-1920. Subjects include Theodore Dreiser, Booth Tarkington, Gene Stratton-Porter, Meredith Nicholson, James Whitcomb Riley, Lew Wallace, and others.
