Join author Harold Morgan as he surveys the rapid growth of Evansville in the years following the Civil War. The city’s location on the Ohio River proved to be a catalyst for an economic boom that resulted as locally produced goods from Evansville’s hardwood and furniture industries, as well as other enterprises, were shipped to global markets, creating prosperity in the Tri-State that lingered well into the next century. Mr. Morgan is the author of Home Town History: The Evansville, Indiana Area, A Photo Timeline, and Home Front Heroes: Evansville and the Tri-State in WWII. This will be the fourth installment in his Home Town History series.
